Lenoir Man Charged with Interfering with Electronic Monitoring Device

52-year-old Johnny Daryl Mooney of S.W. Brixton Place in Lenoir was arrested by Lenoir Police yesterday (February 20) on one felony count of interfering with an electronic monitoring device, along with a misdemeanor count of resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer. He was also charged with a misdemeanor parole violation. Mooney was paroled following a May 2023 felony conviction in Caldwell County for possession of a schedule II controlled substance. His parole was scheduled to end in July of this year.

Following his arrest Tuesday, Mooney was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center with bond set at $1,500, secured. He remained in jail as of this morning. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today in Lenoir.
