Lenoir Man Charged With Firearm, Drug Offenses Following Morganton Traffic Stop

34-year-old Saul P Guerrero of Circle Drive in Lenoir was arrested by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor counts of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed gun, and carrying a concealed weapon. Guerrero is also charged with driving while license revoked.

Guerrero was arrested following a traffic stop last Wednesday (July 26). A Morganton Public Safety Officer stopped a silver 1999 Dodge Ram Pickup truck on Conley Road at Foxfire Drive. There were two occupants in the vehicle, one was charged for having an open container and Guerrero was arrested on the felony and misdemeanor charges. One gram of marijuana, a handgun, and metallic knuckles were found by the officer.

Guerrero is listed as a felon as a result of a conviction in October, 2007 in Catawba County for felonious restraint. The crime was committed in September, 2007. Following last week’s arrest, Guerrero was brought to the Burke County Jail under $10,000 secured bond. He was not listed as an inmate as of today (August 1). A District Court date is scheduled for August 14.
