36-year-old Justin Patrick Preston of Antler Court in Lenoir was arrested Monday (February 27) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle. Preston is additionally charged with speeding, driving while license revoked, fictitious or altered title, registration card, or tag, and driving left of center.

Shortly after midnight Monday morning, a Public Safety Officer responded to the intersection of Highway 181 and Spainhour Road in Morganton in reference to a vehicle chase. When the officer arrived they made contact with Preston, the driver of the vehicle allegedly involved in the chase. Following an investigation, Preston was arrested and charged.

Preston was brought to the Burke County Jail under $15,000 secured bond. He was not listed as an inmate in Burke County as of earlier today (March 2). A District Court appearance is scheduled for March 20 in Morganton.
