The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Golf Team recorded their best round of the Tennessee River Rumble on the final day, to take a 11th place-finish in the event with an 880 (+16) tournament score.

The Bears combined for 290 (+2) total score on Tuesday which saw each LR golfer finishing sub-80 for the second consecutive round.

Sean Finan and Sam Mace each finished for a share of 29th place by shooting a 218 (+2) score over the three rounds. Finan saved his best performance for Tuesday as he led all LR golfers with a 70 (-2) mark. After Mace shot below par in the second round on Monday, the freshman followed it up by going par on the final day with a 72 (E) tally.

Holt Allison also scored a solid finish to the tournament with a 73 (+1) final round. The sophomore started the tournament with the same score, which was the best first round out of any Bear.

Jack Alward had an up-and-down couple of days on the course as the senior closed his regular season with a 77 (+5) score. The senior had one of the best 18-hole scores for LR with a 70 (-2) in the second round.

Lastly for Liam Waldron, the senior improved in each round of the event, ending with a 75 (+3) tally on Tuesday.

Being able to hold on to their first day lead, North Georgia was able to take the top spot of the tournament with an 846 (-18) score. The Nighthawks out-shot the runners-up, Lee, by six strokes. Lincoln Memorial, the hosts of the event, finished in fifth place with an 861 (-3) combined tally.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Golf Team will have a few weeks off before returning to action for the SAC Championship on Sunday, April 16. The Bears are the host this year as the three-day competition will take place at the Lake Hickory Country Club.
