L-R’s Harman Named SAC Freshman Women’s Basketball Player of the Year

The South Atlantic Conference announced this morning that Emily Harman was voted the SAC 2020-21 Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Year. Harman becomes the third Lenoir-Rhyne player to ever win the award and the first since 2006-07.

Harman, a guard from Chesapeake VA, finished the year ninth in the conference in scoring (14.6) and rebounds (7.2) per game and fourth in assists (4.1). The freshman was also seventh in the conference with 1.8 steals per game.

Harman added two double-doubles on the year with her first coming at Tusculum on December 12th with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Later in the year, Harman had a career-high 33 points and 11 rebounds in the Bears 83-70 double-overtime win against Anderson. She was the first Bear to score 30 points in a game since 2018.
