L-R’s Hansson Named Academic All-American

Sophomore Elin Hansson has been named a First Team Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators (CSC) as announced by the organization this afternoon. Hansson becomes the ninth Academic All-American in program history, all since 2011.

On top of having a perfect 4.0 GPA in the classroom while majoring in Accounting, Hansson was a star on the field. The sophomore was named SAC Offensive Player of the Year as well as Regional Offensive Player of the Year while leading LR to a NCAA Quarterfinal appearance. Hansson finished the year with 16 goals and 12 assists for 44 points while guiding LR to a SAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships along with a NCAA Southeast Regional Championships.

Hansson was the only South Atlantic Conference representative on the Academic All-American list.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division II Academic All-America® program.

Sixteen of the 33 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women’s soccer teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.94.
