Lenoir-Rhyne’s Patrik Alvestrand was named the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Men’s Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced.
The South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each of the Conference’s championship sports and is voted on by the SAC’s Faculty Athletic Representatives Committee. On the court, Alvestrand finished his senior year with an 8-11 singles record (positions 3, 4, and 5) and a 4-5 doubles record (positions 2 & 3). As a junior he recorded a singles record of 6-6 and doubles record of 11-7, and as a sophomore he had a 9-6 singles record and 10-6 doubles record.
In addition to his success on the court and in the classroom, Alvestrand has been very active in the Lenoir-Rhyne community.
