L-R Women’s Tennis Suffer First Loss of Season

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis team fell to No. 20 Queens 5-2 on Friday afternoon.

The Royals were able to start hot and win three straight doubles matches to secure the doubles point 1-0.

Gemma Southwick continued her hot start to the season winning in No.1 singles defeating Veselinova 6-3, 6-4 , which is now her eighth straight match won in singles. Natalie Lutz battled and was able to come up on top over Klaassen 3-6, 7-5, 1-0. Sandy Mitsou also had battle in her match but fell short to Fleyer 2-6, 6-1, 6-2. The Royals would go on to secure the match winning 5-2.

The Bears drop to 1-1 (0-1 SAC) and will be back in action on Tuesday February 23 at home against Lander.
