L-R Women’s Soccer Gets Rematch With Limestone in Southeast Regionals

For the ninth time in the past 12 NCAA Tournaments, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Soccer Team is dancing. The Bears earn the No. 5 seed and are set for a rematch with No. 4 seed Limestone on the campus of Columbus St. The game is schedule for Friday at 12 noon and the winner of that game will take on the winner of No. 1 seed Columbus St. and No. 8 seed North Georgia in the second round.

The Bears made a run to the Final Four as a No. 7 seed and own a 4-6-7 all-time mark in NCAA Tournaments. This will be the second time LR has been a 5-seed as they were in 2016 when they also traveled to Columbus St. but fell to Armstrong St. 3-2 in the first round. The Bears earned an at-large bid after an 11-3-3 season and another SAC regular season title, their eighth all time with all of those coming since 2010.

LR is 1-1 against Limestone this season. LR won on Sept. 17 in Hickory 1-0 but fell in the SAC Tournament Semifinals 2-1 in overtime on Friday evening.
