The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Soccer Team bested the Coker Cobras 3-0 as three different Bears scored Thursday afternoon.
The match started off with an early goal from Scarlett Kelly in the fifth minute’ off an assist from Stephanie Figueiredo putting LR up 1-0. LR would score one more before halftime going up 2-0 off a delayed header from Sydney Wall assisted by Figueiredo. The Bears outshot the Cobras in the first half 11-3.
The last goal would come in the 89th minute for LR off a header from Gia Damianakos once again assisted by Figueiredo. Figueiredo earned a career-high in assists today with three.
LR earned more corner kicks than Coker 8-4. Grayson Cameron collected six saves on the match and earned her second clean sheet of the season.
Coker led the game in fouls 7-3
Lenoir-Rhyne has now won the last nine straight against Coker.
The Bears sit in first place in their pod. The Bears are 5-0-1 overall, 3-0-1 in the South Atlantic Conference. Lenoir-Rhyne will be back in action Thursday, March 25 on the road against Catawba at 5:00 p.m.
