L-R Women’s Golf In Third Place After Day One of SAC Tournament

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Golf team competed at the SAC championships and after day one they sit in 3rd place. The Bears played 36 holes today and will finish with 18 holes tomorrow.

There are 13 teams competing at Woodlake Golf course and LR sits in 3rd with a total score of 625 after rounds of 306 and 319. Limestone leads the field with a score of 606 as they compete in their first SAC Tournament in program history.

Beatriz Espelosin sits in 3rd shooting a 71-80–151 (+7). In her first round, Espelosin birdied the ninth and 16th holes and her 71 was the lowest round of any golfer in the tournament.

Just behind Espelosin is Megan Robb in T-11 with a score of 76-81-157 (+13). Robb sank a birdie on the 18th hole and finished the first round four over par.

Playing in her first SAC Tournament, Clara Cerfont finished tied for 16th with rounds of 80 and 78, shooting a 158 for the day.

LR is third in the tournament with seven birdies. They sit just six shots behind Wingate for second place.

The Bears will be back in action tomorrow for round three.
