L-R Men’s Tennis Drops Contest to Wingate
The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Tennis Team closed their home regular season schedule on a sour note, taking a 7-0 defeat to No. 21 Wingate.
In doubles, each match between the Bears and the Bulldogs was competitive, but the visitors were able to come with close victories.
Heading into singles, Rufus Plane had the best performance at the No. 4 line as he took the opening set, 6-2. But the freshman could not translate similar success into the next two sets as Hugo Nossler sealed the match with a 6-1, 6-3 result.
Outside of that match, Wingate went on to capture straight set victories in No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 singles. The Bulldogs also sealed pro-set style victories in No. 3 and No. 5 singles.
The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Tennis Team will close out the regular season on Friday, April 14, with a road trip to Harrogate, Tenn. to face Lincoln Memorial at 2:00 p.m.
