L-R Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth at SAC Championship

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Cross Country Team finished 4th in SAC Championship hosted by Catawba College on Saturday. The Bears improved on their sixth place finished from a year ago. Jacob Parkinson had a top-10 finish on the morning with a time of 26:06. Parkinson earned Second Team All-Conference with his finish.

Lewis Budgen was the second Lenoir-Rhyne runner to cross the finish line in 19th place with a time of 26:42. Budgen was named Third Team All-Conference with his 19th place finish. Both Budgen and Parkinson improved in their second SAC Championship appearance. Parkinson finished 30th last year and Budgen finished 32nd.

Teammates Jon Lakeman (28:05) and Noah Julian (28:10) finished back-to-back in 39th and 40th place while Harrison Hickman was the fifth Bear to finish in 48th place. The Bears finished with 131 points behind Wingate, Catawba, and Anderson. LR was ahead of 5th place Carson-Newman by 11 points.

The Bears will now have two weeks to prepare for the NCAA Regionals on November 19th in Wingate, N.C.
