Jailed Alexander County Woman Allegedly Found to be in Possession of Meth

Monday (August 28), 39-year old Kelly Renee Collins of Alexander County was sentenced to serve 120 days in detention for a probation violation. She was placed in the Alexander County Jail.

Collins appealed the ruling and was granted a $25,000 bond, pending the appeal. Before leaving the detention center, Collins was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine. She’s now charged with possession of meth and felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises. With the new charges, her bond was increased to $60,000. She remained in jail as of earlier today (September 1).

Collins will appear in District Court next Tuesday (September 5). She also has a September 9 court date coming up in connection with charges of felony obtaining property by false pretenses and felony identity theft.
