Iredell County, N.C. — An Iredell County man faces multiple felony charges after investigators say he used another person’s personal information to obtain and use a credit card without authorization.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began May 30 after a victim reported applying for a credit card that never arrived. The victim later learned the card had been delivered to a previous residence and used at several businesses in Statesville.

Detective T.S. Henderson of the Criminal Investigation Division identified 58-year-old David Kyle Tucker of Cleveland as a suspect. Investigators say Tucker gained access to the victim’s personal identifying information, used it to activate the credit card, and made purchases at businesses throughout Iredell County.

Authorities say evidence collected from businesses where the transactions occurred identified Tucker as the individual using the victim’s credit card.

On June 9, warrants were obtained and Tucker was arrested. He was charged with nine counts of felony identity theft and nine counts of felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

Tucker was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where a magistrate set a $75,000 secured bond.
