Iredell County Interstate Ramps To Close Briefly Tuesday Morning
The N.C. Department of Transportation will briefly close the Interstate 77 ramps near Amity Hill Road for a traffic signal operation on Tuesday (June 16).
Crews will finish installing new traffic lights on Amity Hill Road at the I-77 interchange Tuesday morning beginning at 10 a.m.
Amity Hill Road will remain open during the operation, but crews must close the I-77 on- and off-ramps for Amity Hill Road to safely finish the installation. The ramps are expected to reopen by noon.
Drivers will follow these signed detours around the closures:
- From I-77 North: Take Exit 49A, turn left onto U.S. 70 West before taking N.C. 115/U.S. 21 then Murdock Road to Amity Hill Road.
- From I-77 South: Take Exit 42, turn left onto U.S. 21/N.C. 115 then Murdock Road to Amity Hill Road.
Drivers should avoid distractions, remain alert and obey all posted signs.
