STATESVILLE, N.C. (WHKY) — Iredell County’s America 250 activities are continuing into the fall as communities prepare to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The county’s America 250 initiative is part of the nationwide observance marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

Local activities are designed to highlight Iredell County’s history and its connection to the nation’s founding while giving residents opportunities to participate in commemorative programs and events.

Additional America 250 activities are scheduled as the county continues the celebration leading up to the anniversary year.
