Iredell Arts Council Receives $130,930 For Grassroots Arts Program

STATESVILLE, N.C. (WHKY) — A state grant will provide $130,930 for the Iredell Arts Council’s grassroots arts program.

The North Carolina Arts Council, part of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, announced the fiscal year 2026–27 awards Monday. Statewide, the agency awarded $10,990,208 through 340 grants supporting nonprofit arts organizations, schools, after-school programs, municipalities and artists in all 100 counties.

Individual grants range from $2,000 to $354,262. The state says this year’s priorities include community outreach, organizational capacity, arts access for K–12 students, recognition of cultural heritage and public-private partnerships.

The announcement confirms the award and program purpose but does not provide an itemized local spending plan. That distinction should remain clear until the Iredell Arts Council releases additional details.
