Investigation Into Fatal Shooting Continues, Authorities Say They Were Told Victim Was Firing Shots

The investigation is continuing into Sunday’s (February 14) shooting at The Stump Event Center in Mountain View. Catawba County Sheriff’s Investigators and State Bureau of Investigation Agents are following every lead. 34-year-old Jordan Olajuwan Ramseur of Conover was killed in the incident. Another individual was treated at an area hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

As of late this morning (February 15), multiple eyewitness accounts and evidence collected from crime scenes indicate that Ramseur fired a handgun into a grouping of people gathered outside of the establishments front entrance. One of the rounds, believed to have been fired by Ramseur, struck a patron in the leg.

Information received by investigators indicates that Ramseur was shot by a patron as he was shooting at the grouping of people gathered outside of the establishment’s front entrance. Sheriff’s Investigators are in consultation with the Catawba County District Attorney’s Office concerning this investigation.
