Inmates in Lincolnton Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

A group of inmates in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center in Lincolnton were administered the COVID-19 vaccine today (August 31).

The Lincoln County Health Department and the Sheriff’s Office nursing staff administered the first shot of the Moderna vaccine to 20 inmates who signed up for the voluntary program. If inmates are still incarcerated when the second shot is due, it will also be administered by the Health Department and Sheriff’s Office nurses.

It was the second time the COVID-19 vaccine has been given at the detention center. On April 7 of this year, 22 inmates received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
