Catawba County’s residential household hazardous waste and electronics one-day collection event is coming up. The collection will take place on Saturday, November 6, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at LP Frans Stadium, the home of the Hickory Crawdads. The address is 2500 Clement Boulevard, NW.
Items to be accepted at the event include household cleaners, paint products, automotive products, pesticides, fertilizers, kerosene, batteries, pool chemicals, mercury thermometers, fluorescent tubes, computer monitors, TVs, VCRs, stereos, cellphones, pagers, calculators, fax machines, microwaves, and more. No business waste will be accepted, no trailers allowed. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office will offer collection for unwanted medications and prescription drugs. Sharps & needles will not be accepted.
The event is free of charge to citizens of Catawba County. Be prepared to wait due to anticipated high volumes. The event will be held rain or shine.
