33-year-old Gary Benjamin Stamper of Highway 70-A in Hildebran was arrested by Hickory Police Sunday night (August 27) on felony counts of breaking & entering and larceny after breaking & entering. Stamper was taken into custody without incident at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday at an address on Highway 70 East in Hildebran. He was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $3,000 secured bond. He has since been released. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled Monday (August 28) in Newton. Stamper’s next court date was set for September 18.
