Highway Patrol Releases Name in Catawba County Fatal Crash

A motorcycle driver was killed in a crash over the weekend (October 21) in Catawba County. The deceased is 66-year-old Encoh Taylor Dehart of Hendersonville, NC.

On October 21 at approximately 10:00 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to US 321 near NC 10 (mile marker 37). A 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on US 321, drove off the left side of the road, and struck the median cable guidewires.

The driver of the motorcycle 66-year-old Encoh Taylor Dehart passed away from his injuries at the scene. The initial investigation indicates speed and alcohol were not contributing circumstances in the collision.

During the on-scene investigation, the northbound and southbound lanes of US 321 were partially closed in the area for two hours.
