HICKORY, N.C. (WHKY) – Western Foothills 4A/5A Conference play contiuned Tuesday night, with Hickory sweeping previously unbeaten Fred T. Foard. The victory extended the Tornadoes’ winning streak to 17 matches dating to last season. Maiden swept West Iredell and in non-conference action, South Caldwell defeated Hibriten in five sets, 3-2 in the county matchup and Alexander Central suffered their first loss of the season losing on the road in five sets.
