High school girls dual team tennis tournament brackets were released Monday by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. First round of the playoffs begins Wednesday. Teams from the Hickory Metro in the playoffs:

Draughn (10-4) receives a first round bye and will go to Highland Tech in the second round on Monday. October 23rd. The Wildcats are a number 14 seed

North Carolina School of Science and Math-Morganton (7-3) receives a first round bye and will host Thomas Jefferson in the second round on Monday. October 23rd. The Dragons are a number six seed.

2A
Maiden (9-4) will host Surry Central on Wednesday in the first round. The Blue Devils are a number 14 seed.

Newton-Conover (7-4) will travel to Owen in the first round on Wednesday. The Red Devils are a 23 seed.

3A
Fred T. Foard (6-6) will go to Forestview on Wednesday in the first round. The Tigers are a number 24 seed.

Hibriten (8-4) is at home in the first round against North Davidson on Wednesday. The Panthers are a 14 seed.

Hickory (2-9) will go to conference rival North Lincoln in the first round on Wednesday. The Red Tornadoes are a number 32 seed.

St. Stephens (10-4) will go to Rockingham County on Wednesday in the first round. The Indians are a number 17 seed.

Alexander Central (10-6) will travel to Providence in the first round on Wednesday. The Cougars are a number 20 seed.

South Caldwell (4-10) will go to Marvin Ridge on Wednesday for a first round matchup. The Spartans are a 30 seed.
