A Hiddenite woman is facing a felony charge after authorities say she intentionally struck another woman with a vehicle in Catawba County.

According to our news partner WACB Radio, 41-year-old Jenilyn Rene Quinley of Hiddenite has been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office responded to Deal Road at approximately 12:30 p.m. Saturday after receiving a report that a woman had been struck by a vehicle.

Court documents indicate the victim suffered injuries and is currently listed in stable condition.

Investigators allege Quinley used a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox to strike the victim. Additional details regarding what may have led to the incident have not been released.

Quinley was arrested on June 7 and booked into the Catawba County Detention Center, where she is being held under a $10,000 secured bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
