Hiddenite Residents Charged With Felony Drug Offenses Following Traffic Stop
22-year-old Amari Cintalus Miller and 59-year-old Scott Darnell Frye, both of Hiddenite, were arrested Wednesday (September 6) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. Both suspects are charged with felony counts of possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine along with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Early Wednesday morning, The North Carolina State Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on U.S. 64. The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office was alerted after controlled substances were reportedly found in the suspect’s vehicle. Both suspects were taken into custody.
Miller has multiple charges, mostly traffic related, pending in both Alexander and Catawba Counties. Frye was already facing a string of charges in Alexander County including felony drug counts, multiple counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering and more than 30 traffic related offenses.
Both suspects were brought to the Alexander County Detention Center under $20,000 secured bond apiece. Miller remained in jail as of earlier today (September 7), Frye was not listed as an inmate. Both suspects have multiple upcoming court dates with the next appearance set for District Court September 11.
