Hiddenite Man Charged With Being No-Show In Court To Answer To Cocaine Allegation

42-year-old Dustin Quay Peterson of Hiddenite was arrested last Saturday (July 8) and served a warrant for failure to appear. The original charge was felony possession of cocaine.

Peterson also has pending charges in Alexander County including driving while license revoked and communicating threats. A charge is also awaiting trial in Catawba County for felony possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Dustin Quay Peterson has one prior conviction. He was convicted of felony possession of schedule II controlled substance in Catawba County in June, 2021. He received probation and a suspended sentence.

Following Saturday’s arrest, Peterson was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $50,000. He was not listed as an inmate in Alexander County as of earlier today (July 13). Peterson’s next Alexander County District Court date is July 18. A Catawba County District Court appearance is scheduled for August 29.
