Hiddenite Man Arrested for Third Time in Less than a Month
59-year-old Scott Darnell Frye of Hiddenite was arrested by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers Tuesday (October 3) on charges of felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony attempted larceny, breaking & entering, damage to real property, and damage to personal property.
Frye was charged in connection with an incident Monday evening (October 2) when a tractor-trailer rig was stolen from the Statesville Pallet Company on Old Mountain Road in Hiddenite. The truck was found near East Alexander County Park.
Frye had previously been arrested on September 6 and September 19 on failure to appear charges from Iredell County and methamphetamine and fentany-related charges from Alexander County. He was already facing a string of charges in Alexander County including felony drug counts, multiple counts of felony larceny after breaking & entering, and more than 30 traffic related offenses.
Frye is currently being held in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond. District and Superior Court dates are coming up on October 9 in Alexander County with an Iredell County District Court appearance also scheduled for October 9. Additional District Court dates in Alexander County were set for October 23 and November 6, 7, and 13.
