Hickory’s Dillingham Picked By Spurs in NBA Draft, Traded to Minnesota

A great turnout was had last night under the sails in downtown Hickory as Hickory native Rob Dillingham was expected to be an early round pick in the NBA draft. And the gathered crowd did not have to wait long.

The San Antonio Spurs selected Dillingham with the eight overall pick in the draft.

But at about the time people started breaking up the party with talks of purchasing Spurs gear, he was traded. The Minnesota Timberwolves traded a 2030 and a 2031 draft pick to San Antonio for Dillingham. So now, he will play for the Western Conference final runner ups along with defensive specialist and three time defensive player of the year winner, Rudy Gobert, three time all star selection and former Kentucky Wildcat, Karl-Anthony Towns, and of course, having a breakthrough this post season, the 2020 number one pick by the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards.
