A woman was killed in a crash in Lincoln County. The deceased is 65-year-old Susan Willis Wilson of Hickory.

On Friday (November 17) at approximately 5:15 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Reepsville Road at Cansler Road. A 2002 Toyota RAV4 traveling west on Cansler Road, failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling south on Reepsville Road.

The driver of the RAV4, Susan Willis Wilson, passed away from her injuries at the scene.  She was not restrained by a seat belt. The driver of the Tahoe and a juvenile passenger were transported by EMS to Atrium Health Lincoln, with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The initial investigation does not indicate speed or impairment to be contributing factors and no charges will be filed in this case.  During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was closed in the area for approximately two hours.
