59-year-old Betty Katherine Wilfong of Section House Road N.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police Tuesday (June 13) on one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Wilfong was taken into custody without incident at the Sunny Valley apartment complex on 3rd Avenue S.E. in Hickory. She was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $20,000, secured. She remained in jail as of this afternoon (June 15). A first appearance in District Court was scheduled yesterday in Newton with another court date coming up on July 5.
