28-year-old Lela Mae Boyette of 4th Street Drive S.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police late Tuesday night (January 4) on felony and misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. She reportedly failed to appear in court for felony possession of methamphetamine and a felony probation violation, along with a misdemeanor count of larceny.
Boyette was taken into custody without incident at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 13th Avenue Drive S.E. and the McDonald Parkway S.E. in Hickory. She was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $26,000 secured bond. She remained in jail as of this afternoon (January 6). An appearance in Superior Court was scheduled for February 21 in Newton with District Court date on the larceny charge coming up on February 10.
