Hickory Residents Charged With Meth Trafficking In Alexander County
40-year-old Matthew Byron Wood and 36-year-old Jennifer Ann York, both of Hickory, were arrested Saturday (April 1) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. Both suspects are charged with two felony counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, single felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver meth and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep controlled substance.
The suspects are also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Wood is also charged with misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun. The suspects were arrested Saturday following a traffic stop conducted by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.
Both suspects were jailed in the Alexander County Detention Center. Wood was confined under $55,000 secured bond, York’s bond was set at $50,000 secured. Both suspects remained in jail as of earlier today (April 4). They’re both scheduled to appear in District Court in Taylorsville April 24.
