57-year-old Gerald Jerome Wilkes of Washington Lane in Catawba and 43-year-old Kenneth Dale Watson II of Wilkies Grove Church Road in Hickory were arrested Wednesday (December 21) by Hickory Police Officers. Both suspects were charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Wilkes is also charged with second-degree trespass.

Following their arrests, both suspects were jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility. Wilkes under $41,000 bond, Watson under $25,000 bond. Both suspects were scheduled to appear in District Court today. Wilkes also has a January 9 District Court date scheduled.
