Hickory Moving Forward With Bicycle And Pedestrian Plan Update
HICKORY, N.C. (WHKY) — The City of Hickory is moving forward with an update to its Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.
City Council approved a $72,500 North Carolina Department of Transportation multimodal grant agreement for the project.
The grant calls for $56,750 in NCDOT funding and a $15,750 local match from the city.
City officials say significant changes have occurred since Hickory’s current Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan was adopted in 2020.
Consultant HDR will work with the city on revisions that take into account projects completed and progress made during the past six years.
