Hickory Man & Newton Woman Face Felony Drug Charges

34-year-old James Devin Throneburg of George Hildebran School Road in Hickory and 41-year-old Cheryl Sigmon Davidson of Sommer Dale Lane in Newton were both arrested by Hickory Police early Sunday morning (August 2). Throneburg was charged with felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Davidson faces one felony count of possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

They were arrested after Officers initiated a traffic stop on 19th Street S.W. at Highway 70 S.W. During the stop, Police reportedly found 1.1 grams of methamphetamine, 0.6 grams of heroin, and drug paraphernalia

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident at 2:10 a.m. Sunday and placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility. Bond for Throneburg was set at $3,000, secured. Davidson was given an $800 secured bond. They have since been released. First appearances in District Court were scheduled today (August 3) in Newton.
