Hickory Man Jailed on Two Fugitive Warrants from Texas

28-year-old Travon Marquise Berry of 20th Avenue Drive N.E. in Hickory has been arrested by Conover Police on a pair of felony warrants as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state. He was also charged with misdemeanor larceny.

He is wanted in Bexar County, Texas for driving while intoxicated and possession of a penalty group II controlled substance less than 28 grams. Berry is also wanted in the same jurisdiction for assault on a family member including choking or strangulation and possession of a penalty group I controlled substance between four and 200 grams. He is wanted on an indictment from the 175th Criminal District Court, which includes Bexar County.

Berry was taken into custody Tuesday (March 7) and jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility where he is being held without bond on the assault warrant, plus a $9,000 secured bond on the other fugitive warrant and a $500 bond on the larceny charge. He was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court yesterday (March 8) in Newton. He’ll appear in court on the larceny charge on April 6.
