57-year-old Maurice Ricky Williams of 18th Avenue N.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police yesterday (June 29) on a pair of felony fugitive warrants from Virginia. He is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office in Henry County for a probation violation, two counts of uttering a forged check, and one count of obtaining property by false pretenses. Those charges date back to April of 2016. Williams is also wanted by the Danville Police Department in Pittsylvania County for failure to appear on charges of forgery, uttering, and obtaining money falsely. Those charges are from May of 2020.

Following his arrest Thursday, Williams was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $100,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of this afternoon. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today in Newton.
