Hickory Man Jailed on Multiple Counts of Felony Failure to Appear

31-year-old Gary Benjamin Stamper of Highway 70 S.W. in Hickory (also listed as a homeless person from Hickory) was arrested by Hickory Police early last Thursday morning (August 19) on five felony counts of failure to appear. Stamper reportedly failed to appear in court on four counts of breaking & entering a motor vehicle and one count of larceny of a motor vehicle.

He was taken into custody without incident at 12:01 a.m. Thursday at a gas station on Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard S.E. in Hickory. Stamper was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $7,500 secured bond. An appearance in District Court was scheduled last Friday (August 20) in Newton with his next court date coming up on September 9.
