Hickory Man Jailed on Meth Charges & More

32-year-old Jeremy Wayne Gross of Finger Bridge Road in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police last Thursday (January 4) on a long list of charges. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine (three counts), possession of drug paraphernalia (three counts), three drug recovery court violations, six felony probation violations, and defrauding a drug or alcohol test. At least some of the warrants for his arrest date back to September of last year.

Gross is on probation following convictions in Catawba County in February and June of 2022 on multiple counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance. Following the initial conviction, he was given a 30-month suspended sentence.

Gross was taken into custody without incident at about 4:40 p.m. Thursday at a business address on 16th Street N.E. in Hickory. He was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $49,000, secured. Gross remained in jail as of this afternoon (January 9). He was scheduled to appear in District Court on January 5 & 8 with a Superior Court date coming up on February 22 in Newton.
