NEWTON, N.C. (WHKY) — A Hickory man previously arrested in connection with an alleged shooting incident is back on the Catawba County jail roster.

38-year-old Jeremy Ryan Roberts of Section House Road in Hickory was confined Tuesday, September 1, according to Catawba County jail records.

Roberts is listed on two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling or moving vehicle, along with assault by pointing a gun and assault on a female. The jail record also lists domestic violence in connection with the case.

Roberts was previously arrested by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office in May. At that time, authorities charged him with discharging a weapon into occupied property, false imprisonment, assault by pointing a gun and assault on a female. He was being held without bond following that arrest.

The current jail record lists Roberts’ case in Newton Superior Court with a court date scheduled for September 8. The publicly available jail information does not state why he was confined again on September 1 or provide additional details about the alleged incident.
