Hickory Man Jailed on Charges from H.P.D. & the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office

39-year-old Nathaniel Breon Wilson of 7th Street Drive S.E. in Hickory was arrested Wednesday afternoon (July 12) on charges filed by the Hickory Police Department and the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. Hickory Police charged Wilson with felony possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana up to half an ounce, and resisting a public officer. The Sheriff’s Office charged him with felony larceny and two felony probation violations, along with two counts of non-support of a child. Wilson is on probation as he serves a 36-month suspended sentence following a February 2022 conviction in Catawba County on a felony larceny charge.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday at the Hickory Police Department. Wilson was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $57,000, secured, plus a $500 cash bond on the child support charges. He remained in jail as of this afternoon. A District Court appearance on the Hickory charges was scheduled for July 18. Superior Court dates are coming up on Monday (July 17) and on August 24 in Newton. A court date on the child support charges was set for July 20.
