61-year-old Ernest Cleveland Woods of 2nd Street S.W. in Hickory has been arrested by Hickory Police on charges of driving while impaired and hit & run leaving the scene of property damage. He was also served with an order for arrest for possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Woods was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility today (July 27) with bond set at $16,500. An appearance in District Court was scheduled for August 7 in Newton.
