Hickory Man Indicted on Meth Charge; Charged with Failure to Appear

35-year-old James Allen Jones of 8th Avenue S.E. in Hickory has been arrested on multiple counts of failure to appear. Jones allegedly failed to appear in court on charges of resisting a public officer, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to half an ounce, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He’s also accused of twice failing to appear on charges of driving while license revoked, reckless driving to endanger, and failure to maintain lane control. In addition, Jones was served with a grand jury indictment for possession of meth.

Jones was jailed yesterday (December 6) in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $23,500 bond. He’ll appear in Superior Court on December 14 and January 4, with District Court dates coming up on January 11 & 15.
