31-year-old Robertino Mickel Smith of 14th Street Place N.E. in Hickory was served with a true bill of indictment by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers for possession of a firearm by a felon. He was also served with a warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state. No additional information on that warrant is currently available.

Smith was jailed today in the Catawba County Detention Factility where he is being held without bond. A first appearance in District Court on the fugitive warrant is coming up on Monday with a Superior Court date on the firearms charge set for September 25 in Newton.
