Hickory Man Faces Charged for Meth, B&E, Larceny, & More

34-year-old Zong Shia Yang of Fairgrove Church Road in Hickory has been arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, providing fictitious information to an officer, breaking & entering (two counts), arceny after breaking & entering, breaking & entering a motor vehicle, felony conspiracy, and failure to appear on a felony out-of-county probation violation. Yang is on probation as he serves a 24-month suspended sentence following a July 2023 conviction in Iredell County for felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.

Yang was jailed Saturday in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $63,000 bond. Appearances in District Court were scheduled for January 16 & 18 in Newton with another court date on the probation violation coming up on February 13.
