Hickory Man Charged With Violating Probation Imposed Following March Conviction

22-year-old Barry Dwayne Weeks, Jr. of 1st Avenue NW in Hickory was arrested Tuesday (May 7) by Long View Police Officers. He’s charged with felony probation violation and misdemeanor second-degree trespass. Weeks is on probation as a result of a conviction on March 5 of this year in Catawba County. He was convicted of felony counts of breaking & entering and larceny after breaking & entering and received probation and an 18 month suspended sentence. Following Tuesday’s arrest, Weeks was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $5,000 bond. A District Court date was scheduled Wednesday (May 8), a Superior Court appearance is set for June 27.
