Hickory Man Charged With String Of Crimes Including Kidnapping, Vehicle Theft
28-year-old Alexander Day-Quan Carpenter of 20th Avenue Drive NE in Hickory was arrested Sunday (September 3) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of breaking and entering with intent to terrorize or injure, habitual misdemeanor assault, and first-degree kidnapping along with a count of larceny of a motor vehicle.
Carpenter is also charged with misdemeanor counts of, domestic criminal trespass, assault by pointing a gun, and resisting a public officer. He’s also charged with failure to appear on counts of assault on a female, communicating threats, and misdemeanor larceny. Carpenter is also charged with non-support of a child.
Following the arrest, Carpenter was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $38,400 total bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (September 5). District Court dates were scheduled today, September 12, and September 18. A Civil District Court date on the non-support charge is slated for this Thursday (September 7).
