27-year-old Brandon Michael Nichols of 14th Street N.E. in Hickory has been arrested by Hickory Police for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a felony probation violation. He’s on probation as he serves a 24-month suspended sentence following a May 2023 conviction in Catawba County on two felony counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Nichols was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility yesterday (October 1) with bond set at $50,000. He remained in custody as of this afternoon. An appearance in Superior Court was scheduled for November 9 in Newton.
